And, after all the baking and gardening... Jim took me shopping! Where I bought these for Paris!! What do you think? They were on sale. Guess how much... guess... Twenty-six dollars. What a steal. I was thrilled, but... I've been wearing them now for a couple hours and it's cutting into the back of my heel. Frig! I'm going to wear them this week to break them in. If they still hurt by Friday I'm not taking them. Still happy I got them tho. It was a good price.
I hope you had a good mother's day. Wish I was there or you here. We should plan something for next year.
I like those shoes ... they look practical but fashionable. I don't think the problem is with the shoes ... maybe you don't have enough padding on your heels, so with flats you need a heel pad to raise it up a little and they wont dig into you. Check it out at a drug store.
ReplyDeleteNo, I didn't go out for breakfast, lunch or dinner ... cooked my own meals! I guess Nickey wanted to go out for brunch with Steven and Kennedy (Taylor was MIA) ... so that was ok. We went over to Vance ... he wanted Dad to help him move the snowblower off the front porch (what a guy!) and I went and did a little garden cleanup ... his garden cleanup is nothing, it took about an hour. Then we came home and I worked in the garden. They brought Steven over to the house after brunch (he didn't go inside), that's when Taylor walked home and they wanted a 'family' picture ... check FB again, it's on Kennedy's wall. Actually, Steven looked ok ... really slim and pale but at least clean. He's really dozy tho ... Dad asked "So, what have you been doing?" ... refer to school or work ... his answer " I've been biking." Anyway, it was nice to see him.
I did get a gift from them ... Birkenstock sandals ... something I probably never buy as I'm too cheap. I guess they're making up for all the years of no gifts ... hahaha! Actually, with Nickey's breakdown of her relationship with her own Mom, I think she's trying to show some appreciation towards us. She basically does not talk to either her Mom or Dads. You can't really help some people or change them! Anyway, we don't get involved.
After all that echatting last night, I can't believe I still have so much to write about. Btw, I phoned Jamaica and talked to Magi yesterday ... as usually not a very satisfying experience. However, I didn't chat too long with her, as I told George to stand by to take the phone (so he stayed on the line). Her voice is still strong, but it really is difficult to have a conversation with her. Of course, at first she thought I was Polly, and after telling her my name about 10 times, she finally got it ... she is still quick, as her comment was that since she hadn't talked to me for so long she didn't recognize my voice. I had to take some deep breaths!
Anyway, we're going out in the garden today(another nice one)... always something to do. You did a good job on your pond and garden ... hope you didn't pull up any of the good flowers. We want to come out there in June after Dad goes for his cystoscopy (around June 11) and work on your garden ... would that time be ok?
Ok, I better end here. Did you get the census in the mail? Just completed ours ... it's mandatory by law. Have a good week ... ttyl.
xoxo
