There is only one person in this world that knows everything about me. That’s my mom. She is my sounding board. My voice of reason. My inspiration. My biggest fan. Mom - I know we can’t talk everyday like we use to, I thought this would be a good way to share my days. This blog is for you mom. I hope you like it :)

Liam went driving today. He approached me to go out. Of course I said yes. Was in the middle of preparing supper but dropped everything to take him out! He noticed a big difference driving in the Civic compared to your vehicle! He reversed a couple times and then I took him on the road. No worries, we stayed in our little neighbourhood. He turned right and then left and we circled at the end of that street. I don't think he went over 5 kms. Then we came back home. He reversed a bit more and then I made him park in the garage. He had to reverse a few times but I think he made it in his third try. Jim happened to come home at the point too so he was able to watch while Liam parked the car. He did really well! Anyways, thought you would be thrilled to know. That's what we did this afternoon. Smiles!

Yea for Liam! Isn't that great that he's getting interested ... he just needs encouragement. Wow, Dad must have impressed (or scared) him. As you know your Dad was not that patient a teacher when he was younger (I know since he taught me to drive too)... with Liam it was alright up and down your driveway, but I'm not sure he would still be patient to take him out on the road. Now he should go get his learners, even if he's not quite ready to take lessons yet (I'm sure you're not ready yet either), but at least it would be ok to take him on the back roads now and then. You're in a great location for learning ... lots of places to practice driving before hitting the busy city streets.
ReplyDeleteTell Liam that we're happy to hear about his driving initiatives and to keep at it ... it doesn't matter how long it takes, the more he practices the more he will feel comfortable and confident. It's like learning to ride a horse! Hehehe!
Last night we were so shocked to see all that snow (it all came in a very short time) and disappointed that winter just will not go away. However, this morning it's a different story ... before noon, the weather warmed up (temp in the teens)and 3/4 of the snow had melted ... now it feels and looks like spring. Yea!
Talk to you later!
