Mama!!!
Look how perfect the sky was tonight.
It feels like it been such a long time!!! Where did I leave off...
Yes, I've been super busy with work the past several days. Had a presentation in TO today that I was working towards. It went well. So, it might go back to normal again... although I don't know what normal is anymore.
Let's see, last week. Did I tell you about the sliver platter incident at work? OMG. I will have to tell you offline. That added to my workload!!
Liam impressed his math teacher with his last quiz 26 out of 28. And got an 8 out of 10 on a surprise quiz today. So, I think he's back on track. Proud of him. He's also getting really chatty now. Talking all the time. I know weird!
Saturday, I went riding on Beau and my coach said I cantered Beau the best out of everyone at our barn. I'm sure she was just saying that but I do feel a special connection with that horse. It's like he can read my mind and I think I'm starting to read his too. No riding this weekend tho. Just taking a one week break.
Then the in-laws came over. It was a good visit. Like you the winter seems to be bringing them down. And the whole living arrangements with her sister is showing signs of wear. Although she says it's fine. I know they don't think the same so at times it must be strained. Alene lost quite a bit of weight. It was quite noticeable and I think Cec did too. We took them shopping and of course we buy up the whole store!! They bought nothing. lol They kept saying over and over again how much they missed us and wished we were back in Cambridge. Like come on. I miss everyone too but let's not hang on to the past here. I think it gets to Jim tho so I'm worried he's going to fall back into a slump again.
Spent family day working on a proposal (related to the silver platter incident) and helping Liam with his video game. I made the graphics and Liam did the programming. So, it was a family activity!! Jim studied. It's been exam week for him, so every night I'm helping with assignment or helping Liam and also doing my work. So, that's why I've been offline. Tonight I'm hoping to rest up. Next week Jim is off on March break he might go back into Cambridge for a day.
I can't wait to see your new kitchen cupboards! That was fast!!! You can't complain too much tho. The guy did it for a good price and finished it. You'll have to send me pics! Not sure when we will be in next.
How's the weather there? It's seems to be warming up a lot of the snow melted but I hear we are expecting a snow storm tomorrow??? Hmmm, maybe I will go riding after all... trail riding through the snow :)
We'll have to start planning your visit soon? March is next week and the maple syrup festivals will be starting. When did you say dad has his treatments? How's he doing?
Have you heard any more about the JA trip? Or has A. Polly dropped it?
Keep smiling mama! Miss you bunches!! xoxox mwah
She's back! Great to read your blog and enjoy the pics ... beautiful sunset!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that your presentation went well and that Liam is doing so good with math and getting chatty too! He's quiet but I've always found that he'll talk with me. He's a good kid! Sounds like you're all getting into a routine now and things are coming together, sorta.
I can't believe that the Svirks drove all the way out there and barely spent a couple days. They probably just needed a little break from the situation at home. It must be wearing on them I'm sure. Were they trying to lose weight? ... in any case that would be a benefit for them.
Can you believe it's March next week? Still it seems like a long winter. This isn't definite but let's plan for our visit the weekend of March 25-28. Gosh, it seems like our visit is so long compared to Jim's parents. Is the Maple Syrup festival on in Buckhorn at that time?
Hopefully the cupboards will be completed by this weekend. Again he was supposed to come yesterday ... no show! Called last night and rescheduled for Saturday ... I think he could hear it in my voice ... "Are you sure now, because I just want this over and done with." Of course he's most apologetic but I am getting a little tired and frustrated (eventho I am enjoying the little niceties of the new features and changes).
Still hear from A. Polly every week (sometimes 2 or 3 times)... she has nothing else to do and sometimes she just wants to complain about Magi (which I can totally understand). I think she plans on coming back up by about mid March. Also she now knows that I am not interested in the resort at that high rate and will wait to see how it is by about July. She's also a little concerned that the travel agent was pressuring her to confirm by the end of February with numbers and a deposit. So that's where it stands right now. Vance is also interested in going, but thinks it's too high ... plus he can't plan this far ahead because of his situation with the famly and dogs! Can't help him there!
Today is a little snowy, but I'm not sure how the roads are. Did you see the price of gas now? $1.20 in some places. How much is it in Bridgenorth at the Altramar gas bar?
Have to go ... do some house work, paper work and bills. Maybe we'll chat this weekend? Take care. Miss you!
xoxo
