Did a little shopping yesterday. It was so rainy and nothing really to do. Well, lots of paperwork and housework to do... but that could wait. What's another week when it's been so long already!

Tried on a cute spring jacket at Winners (black). Jim said it looked very Parisienne. So, I had to buy it! It was only $39.99. I'm going to take it on my trip. Then I found a light cable knit dress that reminded me of spring so I bought that too. It's (not black) taupe and simple. Thought I could wear it now and through summer. Then went to Chapters where I saw this adorable bookmark. For all my reading, of course! Two dollars! I think that was my favourite purchase of the day.

Going to make apple compote now for pancake Tuesday. I'll post pics later!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend! love you! xox

  1. I love all your blogs, but now I'm way behind with my responses. Last week I was checking every day and there was nothing, so I stopped checking for awhile ... then suddenly there were 7! Thanks for attaching pics, they are great and it makes it so much more personal.

First of all ... you should be given the award for "Independant Woman of the year" (who needs a man, anyway??). We couldn't believe that the propane gas ran out!! That must have caused a little panic initially ... thank goodness you're not helpless but smart enough to know what to do and all ended well (no thanks to you know who). Proud of you! I agree, the temp in your house is set too high ... normally we set ours at 20 (with the humidifier) and maybe 22 when you're here. If your humidifier was working you wouldn't have to set the temp so high ... wasn't the previous owner supposed to come and set it up for you? We're so sorry that you seem to have the responsibility of doing everything ... that's not right or fair.

Anyway, onto more positive things. Your buys sound great and I love the book mark (so appropriate), did they have other types? I have alot of books to read (as I bought more used ones from the library 5/$1), and have attempted to start reading, but can't focus for one reason or another. Now that the kitchen is finished I may try again.

We've been going to the surplus store alot lately ... it has grown and expanded alot and it is fun to go through things ... some good buys too! But I've been good and buy only things that I really need. We actually went back to pick up the left hand levers for the closets since I found an online place that sells the matching right hand lever (altho it cost alot more than the surplus store, but together still works out cheaper than Home Depot). So I plan to order those tomorrow ... hope that works out ok as it's coming from the States. Will keep you posted.

Spring one day, winter the next! We had alot of snow this morning, but it warmed up as the day progressed ... I do believe that spring is around the corner (Dad saw a robin today on his walk). I really have to finish cleaning and clearing up and doing my paper work because once the weather gets nice it's all outdoors for me. I tend to procrastinate ... hope you don't take after me!

I have a little gossip from the registrar's Office, but won't get into it here ... maybe when we echat on FB. I'm still in shock and almost speechless ... wait till you hear!

That's it for now ... keep on blogging!
    xoxo
